Shipping is Free?
Cottonwood is proud to provide free shipping on orders within the lower 48 states. To provide you with the best selection and prices, we ship from multiple locations all over the nation.
When will I receive my goods?
Most goods ship in one to three business days after order receipt. Depending on what you order and where we ship from, goods are generally on the road within one to five business days. As a result, you should expect to receive your goods within two to 10 business days or one to two weeks. Once your goods ship, we provide shipment information including tracking number(s), toll free numbers to contact the shipper, and websites to check to watch your goods as they move towards you. Goods are often shipped in more than one package. As a result, it is likely that you’ll get more than one package and they may or may not arrive at the same time.
What is your best futon mattress?
We build our futon mattresses with a comfort level and life expectancy in mind. However, having said that, I would choose the futon mattress that meets your comfort level expectations the best. If you luck out and pick a lower cost futon mattress, be grateful; if you do not, pay it. The futon mattress is what provides the sitting and sleeping comfort; it is the most important decision you are making. The website’s futon mattress guide is very useful.
How do you compare to your competition?
Our experience and our prices are more than competitive and our goods are superior. We'd love to prove it!
Do your pictures accurately represent your goods?
Colors and shades can look different on various computer monitors depending on their rendering schemes. Products you view online might appear several shades different from their actual appearance in real life. This is true of all items viewed online and experienced Internet shoppers take this into account when making their selections. Cottonwood Futons has done its best to provide accurate representations of its products in spite of these factors. Since fabrics are the most affected by variances, we encourage you to order a fabric sample.
Do you have fabric samples?
Fabric samples are orderable through the website. Simply click the cover picture you like and sample will be one of the options. We charge $3.00 each. Patterned fabric sample size is about 9" x 9" whereas solid sample size is about 3" x 3".
Do you charge sales tax?
We only charge sales tax if your goods are being shipped to the State of Wisconsin. In other words, for all states but Wisconsin, there will be no sales tax.
Is assembly required?
Most of our hard goods such as futon frames and beds require some assembly. Effort required can be anywhere from a light assembly effort such as attaching legs to more extensive assembly requiring about an hour. All items come with the tools needed. However, we would recommend that you have scissors handy, which is helpful in removing the packaging. Despite your possible self-perceived conception of "screwdriver impaired", customers advise us that they find that assembly is easier than expected. Technical Support and assembly videos are often available. Technical Support contact information and video URLs, if available, are noted on the item's assembly instructions.
What is your warranty?
Warranties vary by item. Upon purchase, we can also provide written warranty details.
What is a Lounger?
Chair like futons including the 28" chair, and loveseat (in contrast to the full and queen which are sofa style futons; i.e. sit and sleep oppositely), have an ottoman. The ottoman provides the additional 21" length needed (from 54" to 75") to accommodate an adult sleeper. The loveseat lounger converts into a full size bed. The 28" chair lounger converts into a cot size bed. Without the ottoman, the chair is only long enough to sleep a child (or only 54" long).
Usually, a two piece futon mattress configuration is purchased with the lounger configuration; one for the sitting unit and one for the ottoman. When used as a sleeper, a fitted sheet will hold the two futon mattress pieces together very nicely.
Fabrics cleanability and durability
We only use home furnishing grade or better fabrics. That means the fabric will likely outlive your ability to like it. So don’t sweat it, pick a fabric based on only what you like.
Regarding cleanability, there is at least eight yards of fabric in a full futon decorative cover. Therefore, it is almost impossible to effectively wash a futon decorative cover in your home machine even if the fabric is machine washable. It generally does not cost a lot to have a cover commercially cleaned (whether washed or dry cleaned). Furthermore, the fabrics are very soil and stain resistant, so it is unlikely you’ll ever need to clean the cover. So again, don’t sweat it, pick a fabric based only on what you like.
Can I Get a Catalog?
In order to keep costs as low as possible and offer you the best selection at the best prices, our website is our only catalog. If you are concerned with color accuracy displayed on your computer monitor, we encourage you to order fabric samples. You can order them through the website. Simply go to the fabric that interests you and click the fabric sample option and add to your cart.
How Do I Change the Quantity of an Item in My Cart?
Simply place your mouse over the quantity you want to change and change it to whatever number you want including zero. Once the quantity is changed, simply hit update quantities at the bottom of the cart and your cart will be updated to reflect the quantity you want.
